The Short Answer: Your August Payment Already Arrived — Early
The Social Security Administration pays SSI benefits on the 1st of each month. But when the 1st falls on a weekend or federal holiday, the SSA moves the payment to the last business day before that date instead.
In 2026, August 1 falls on a Saturday. So instead of paying SSI recipients on August 1, the SSA deposited the August payment on Friday, July 31, 2026.
That means:
- You received two payments in July (your regular July 1 payment, plus the “August” payment on July 31)
- You will receive zero payments in August
- Your next payment arrives September 1, 2026, right on schedule
Your total annual benefit amount doesn’t change. No one’s check was cut, delayed indefinitely, or reduced. It’s purely a calendar shift.
So when do we get a check for August??
Bunk. The SSA, SSI and social security administration are out of touch with reality.
they can’t see in front of them. Its easer to look back and start going in another direction. Give the American people what they want. NO BS.
Your ignorance is showing. You guys blame him for everything. This is not him. This is processes put in place before him. So get over it already.

They said it happens every few years. I’m sure he wasn’t in office all the other times. But you are one that wants to blame him insted of knowing the truth.
I certainly hope this is just a conspiracy theory! My bills are not going to wait; I will receive late fees on every one of them! Another Trump decision?
I certainly hope this is not a true factual article! I cannot afford to miss even one month of my SSA!!!
I’m 64, how do I sign up for social security
Call the SS office and make an appointment.
I did not get a payment in July either
