Why the SSA Does This

This isn’t new, and it isn’t a policy change or a result of any funding issue. It’s a standard, decades-old administrative rule: SSI payments are never issued on a weekend or a federal holiday. If the 1st of the month lands on one, the payment moves earlier, to the previous business day.

This creates a predictable pattern: any year the 1st of a month falls on a Saturday or Sunday produces a “double payment” month followed by a “skipped” month. It has nothing to do with:

  • Social Security’s funding or solvency
  • Missed payments or system errors
  • Changes to eligibility or benefit amounts
  • Government shutdowns or budget disputes

    they can’t see in front of them. Its easer to look back and start going in another direction. Give the American people what they want. NO BS.

  5. Both my husband are ill. He has damaged left leg. He seen doctors, and went to hosspital. He had some different come our home. But this Friday he go see doctor again not only left leg, but also his shoulders,, he had injured.
    As for me I got Type 2 Diabetes. and have gone to San Antonio Kidney for lads, and scheduled to go back October 6 & Oct. 13. I was told I have Stage 3A Chronic Kidney Disease by Prime Doctor Rebecca Ann Quiroz, MD on 7/13/2026.
