Not sure how these “senior hours” work in practice. These hours may be slow hours for the store so they call them “senior hours”. I cannot imagine any of these stores turning away business because customers are 30, 35, 40 years old.
Believe me, as a super senior, I appreciate these stores letting us know when they have few customers. Fewer customer during certain hours usually means fewer cashiers. In addition, the advice on senior services is also helpful.
    Thank you for the info.

Unfortunately, this only operates on the honor system, and there isn’t much honor displayed these days.

Kroger is way to expensive specifically if you don’t have a Kroger Card. Walmart is a disaster changing the store around all the time & their prices & quality are not that good. Have seen employees pick produce off floor and put back in bin with the others. My favorite store here in DFW is HEB.

From a pricing standpoint I’m surprised that ALDIs is not on you list. Also, considering Wegman’s has been listed as one of the best places to work etc., they do nothing for seniors or veterans.

    Greetings,

Being Puerto Rico part of the EU and having some of the stores as Walmart, and others alike, are we entitled to these discounts?

I’m glad that these grocery and chain stores cater to us seniors, it’s about time that seniors are shown some appreciation. What I’m waiting on is for the manufacturers to go back to giving us customers that keep them in business, to stop giving us less product and charging the consumer more. Take a look back at the seventies and eighties, yes prices were high but you got what you paid for. I hope some CEOs in a manufacturing company read this message and pass it on.

I think that’s awesome but being one of those seniors and no transportation, opening early is not always the solution since us silver seniors usually have trouble sleeping and 7:00 a.m. just isn’t making it.
